To my amazing daughter. Congratulations on another fantastic school year. You went in to this year with such an entusiasm and an eager to learn more. And so you have. You’ve blossomed into this independent, strong minded girl who knows what she wants out of life. And who’s not afraid to show it. You’ve learned how to read and write, written an essay on Snowy Owls and performed in the “Piggy Opera”. You’ve found your voice. You’re described by your teachers as curious, innovative and a confident communicator. A true friend to your peers with the ability to see the best in everyone. A girl whose motto is “sharing is caring” and whose smile and laughter can break down any barrier. In you I see myself and the troubles I caused your Grandmother as a child.. I see the curiousity and the longing to experience it all. Sitting still is not an option. It’s like you’re afraid to miss out on something. My restless soul can relate to that.
Tomorrow you will graduate from 1:st Grade and as your mom, I couldn’t be more proud. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for you and I promise to be by your side every step of the way until you feel safe enough to go out into the world on your own. Just don’t grow up too fast. To me, you are everything. I love you to the moon and back.
